5. Money Heist - "Whoever Keeps Trying It, Gets It"
Faking out your audience is never a good thing, yet many shows get away with it anyway. La Casa De Papel (also known as Money Heist) is guilty for this sin as well, particularly with the mid-season finale of its first season. The ninth episode of this Spanish hit series delivers on all fronts thanks to some great storytelling and fantastic action.
The Professor and his band of bank robbers are starting to break under the pressure as the police are closing in. Arturo, one of the hostages, manages to break out some of his co-workers. In the process, he fatally wounds Oslo, marking him as the first one of the group to die. However, this isn't were the episode ends.
This all comes to ahead with Raquel finding the villa where the bank robbers planned the entire robbery. Fast forward one episode, and viewers get the reveal that the villa has been part of the plan all along. It's a good twist for some, while it lessens the tension for others. If you make it look like The Professor is unbeatable, you can't expect people to believe things might go sideways.
