10 Great TV Shows Starring The Doctor Who Cast

3. Adjoa Andoh - Bridgerton

Of all the shows discussed on this list, Bridgeton is likely the biggest. As of right now, it's Netflix's second most-viewed show - behind 2021's runaway hit, Squid Game - and that's a huge accomplishment. But, what makes it even more remarkable is that the mother of Martha Jones makes a big old splash in it.

Bridgerton is a period drama set in Regency-era London. It spins a yarn of romance, politics, and lust from the perspective of the titular Bridgerton siblings. It's a show filled to the brim with great costumes, gossip and scandal, as all period dramas should be.

While the sheer popularity of this show did come out of nowhere, it's not too surprising. This series is deliciously indulgent with lavish sets, brilliant chemistry between the actors and a whole host of witty dialogue. Plus, there are plenty of steamier moments that might have added to the show's appeal *saxophone solo*.

Doctor Who actor Adjoa Andoh also steals the show with her role of Lady Danbury, the sharp-tongued mentor of the main love interest. She's fearsome and unapologetic, and Andoh plays her with a bite that cuts right through the screen.
