The show is a mind-boggling exercise in creative science fiction, giving you some ingenious set-ups and original thinking. The variety between the lead figures means there's never a dull moment as each character is so clearly defined. Plus, you'll hop around the place from America to London to Africa and plenty more, with the show's focus on culture and social issues feeling enlightening.
Agyeman plays Amanita, the girlfriend of one of the titular eight. But she's way more than just a side role, as Amanita's hacking skills become essential to the group's survival, and her exploration of LGBTQI+ themes alongside her girlfriend Nomi gives the show a modern sensibility.
