1. Avatar Aang - Sozin's Comet
The finale of any show had better have at least one moment that cracks the top 5 of best moments in its entire run, and there are no better moments for this author's money than the bombastic, amazing return of the Avatar State in Sozin's Comet.
Upon being knocked into a bunch of rocks by Ozai during their final battle, Aang's chakras are realigned by the rock hitting him right where Azula killed him in season 2's finale. His body having undergone a forced reboot of sorts, Aang regains the Avatar State in a big way and lays f*cking WASTE to Ozai. The image of Aang surrounded by all four elements has been permanently etched into the minds of every kid who first saw this finale.
But of course, the best moment comes when Aang stays true to his ideals and refuses to kill Ozai, instead opting for the third way of taking away his bending. The brilliant mix of colors and lights when Aang performs his energy bending on Ozai is nothing short of breath taking.
It was the perfect finale to a flat out perfect show. Nothing less would be accepted for the number 1 best moment of Avatar: The Last Airbender.
