10 Greatest Jesse Moments In Breaking Bad
6. Why Not Self Acceptance? - Problem Dog
There's a lot of truth behind the statement that Walt makes in the fifth season saying that if there's a Hell, both he and Jesse are going there. For all his drawbacks though, Jesse still appears to be attempting to live on the straight and narrow, going so far as to go to rehab and trying to set up a relationship with Andrea towards the end. When you clean up like this though, you do have to come clean in your soul as well as your body.
During one of his many stints in rehab, Jesse starts to break down in his circle, constantly arguing that he's not as good of a person as they take him to be. Although the writing in this episode is already fantastic, the moment really belongs to Aaron Paul's performance, where he takes the simple scenario about justifying his own bad habits and tears down every layer of pretension that he has, going so far as to fess up that he was there to sell these people meth from the very beginning.
As much as this kid has gotten beaten down emotionally for most of this show, this is the moment where he feels the most like a wounded animal, trying so hard to make things right even though the damage has already been done. Even with all of the support behind him, he just can't seem to wipe the blood from his hands just yet.
