It's hard not to respect the hell out of this guy. Always willing to try something new and stretch himself as an actor, so while in New York, why not try his hand at live comedy? And while the material he was given may not have been the best Saturday Night Live's ever produced, he showcased a surprisingly adept sense of comic timing and ran away with a number of the sketches he was involved in. Rather than just playing the straight man in each of his skits (as some less experienced hosts are apt to do), Radcliffe took the opportunity to make a mark on the show. How can you not appreciate a really just rather sad adult version of Harry Potter, hanging around Hogwarts and trying to relive the glory days with incoming first years? Or his bitingly sarcastic interpretation of Casey Anthony's Yorkie (sarcasm's not just for cats, you know)? Which by the way, everyone needs to see before Casey Anthony is completely gone from the cultural landscape and the sketch isn't funny anymore. Now that Dan's back in New York City performing in The Cripple of Inishmaan, he should spend some time with the folks over at 30 Rock. The world needs it.
