10 Greatest Time Travel TV Shows Of All Time

6. Making History

Making History is a lot of fun because it takes elements of what was so enjoyable about Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and transposes it into a more adult context. It posits the question, what if the time machine wasn't always being utilized by genius scientists and dramatic heroes? What if it was just sort of inherited by some well-intentioned but unambitious loser who uses it to find a girlfriend and just, like, have an overall good time?

This is the story of Dan Chambers who, along with his reluctant history professor friend Chris and Revolutionary era girlfriend Deborah, feels a powerful urge to try and use time travel to right the wrongs of the past, but usually ends up narrowly avoiding ruining basically everything.

It's a unique take on the genre that certainly has some ups and downs, but with mostly clever writing and a solid cast, Making History manages to maintain a steady stream of laughs throughout the show's (admittedly short, thus far) run. The argument between the colonists and the British about gun control alone is worth the price of admission. Sadly, this one has just been cancelled.
