6. Sarah Jane Smith€™s Goodbyes (€œThe Hand of Fear€, 1974 and €œThe Man Who Never Was€, 2011)

Well, first she left the Fourth Doctor, and that was sweet and sad and wonderful, especially since he accidentally left her in the wrong place. But then she returned and got her own spinoff series. Then, sadly, Elisabeth Sladen died way too young and that was that for the character. She got a loving tribute at the end of the final episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures. Now I know that strictly speaking, that€™s not something that happened in Doctor Who. Well, it€™s my list, and that final tribute was so heartbreaking I can€™t even begin to get over it. So there you are.
