8. Carrie & Aiden Sex & The City
When one couple ties the knot, another relationship comes to an end. Carrie & Aiden seemed perfect for each other and its not a stretch to say that many Sex & The City fans wanted them to end up together. After Carries painful break up with Mr. Big at the end of the first season, she meets Manhattan furniture designer Aiden Shaw. The fact that their relationship is so straightforward and normal seems slightly off-putting to the series protagonist, but it seems as though shell get her fairy tale ending at last. Of course Sex And The City, despite what some people may claim, takes a realistic look at modern relationships and Carrie & Aidens story comes to an end at Charlottes wedding when Carrie reveals that she had an affair with Mr Big. Aiden points out that its not that simple when Carrie begs him to take her back and he walks away. Its a difficult one to watch because its an unflinchingly honest portrayal of the issues presented by 21st Century couples. Its something that could happen with any couple and thats what hits the hardest.
