10 Hidden Details You Definitely Missed In The Good Place

The universe works in mysterious ways, much like fate and karma have been brought into play in this beautiful show. Every single time Michael re-boots the neighbourhood wiping the memories of the core four, they somehow manage to figure out his master plan. No matter how hard he tries, they always find and help each other. Fate, no?

One of most satisfying episodes is Season 2's "Best Self", in which the gang reflect on their time in the good place, and also debate which version of their reboots was their 'best self. Which could be quite difficult since they have been re-booted 802 times.

The debate comes from Michael creating a 'weighing scale' to weigh the groups souls to see if they are the best version of themselves, granting them access to the REAL good place and escaping the demons who are hot on their tails.

"The balloon will only transport those who have attained self-realisation. Each traveller shall step upon the scale and her soul shall be weighed. If she is the best version of herself, it will permit her to board, if not, passage will be denied," Janet translates.

Eleanor explains how, when she was with Chidi at Mindy's, she was "venerable, emotional and honest"... thinking this could be the best version of her! Later in the scene, Chidi and Eleanor have a touching moment where he says he wishes they could have met by her "knocking on his office door for help with philosophy". At the end of Season 2, Eleanor finds Chidi on Earth, bursting through his office door to ask for help... with philosophy.

This could be easily missed, especially after Eleanor replies laughing, "is that really how you think people meet?"
