In most of the flashbacks to earth for example, there are nods to the other characters dotted about in scenes to help the viewer connect them all to the same world. Tahini's beautiful face plastered all over magazines, her more successful sister plastered all over moving vans... tiny details to help place all the characters into the same world and time frame.

In Season 2's "Somewhere Else", you can quickly see flashes of Eleanor's past Google searches, which include things like, "When is Kylie due?" and "Wing place has liquor license Phoenix". It's a genius little addition to help pad out her character, making the fact she's not supposed to be in the good place even funnier.

Other insane levels of detail on set: In the frozen yogurt shop, all 500 flavours are written for real, including flavours such as “Second Kiss - First is Awkward', 'Sleeping in on a rainy Sunday', and 'You're the Thinnest at Your 10-Year-Reunion'".
