10 Hilarious Doctor Who Mistakes You Definitely Didn't Notice

6. Wrong TARDIS (The Time Of Angels)

The reveal of the Eleventh Doctor's new TARDIS exterior was a big moment in The Eleventh Hour, so it was hugely surprising when, just a few episodes later, that exterior had reverted back into its previous look.

Early on in The Time of Angels, Eleven and Amy race to rescue River Song, who's got herself in a spot of trouble. River being River, she's jumped out of a spaceship, hoping the Doctor will catch her before she floats off into the void of space.

Her faith is rewarded of course, but hang on, what's up with that TARDIS? Why does it look... different? Well, because it's the wrong one. A special effects screw-up resulted in the Tenth Doctor's TARDIS materialising in space here, instead of the Eleventh Doctor's. Whoops.

Then-showrunner Moffat actually mentions this on the episode's commentary track (which features him and Karen Gillan), where he claims that he doesn't know whose fault the mistake was. Clearly, Ten did not want to go.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
