10 Horror TV Moments That Genuinely Got Under Your Skin

1. Freddy Krueger€™s Death - Freddy€™s Nightmares

Freddy_Krueger_ShadowSeason 1, Episode 1 No More Mr. Nice Guy (October 8, 1988) I had a discussion the other day with a friend of mine about whether the NOES films should continue and what direction they should go in. My friend said that they should do a prequel where they actually show Freddy Krueger on trial for his crimes, watch him get off scott free and then show the town€™s people burn him alive. When I told him that it sort of already happened on the small-screen he just gave me a blank stare. He had no idea that a Nightmare On Elm Street TV series even existed. Indeed during the late €˜80s, after the massive success of the Elm Street films the antics of Mr. Krueger were bought to the small screen. In the first episode (directed by Tobe Hooper) we see Freddy on trial (oddly still wearing his red and green sweater). After beating the case, the town€™s people get together to put the law into their hands. Now, the reason this scene makes the list is not because it is terrifying but because it is so mind numbingly lame! When a police officer starts to smother him in gasoline Krueger just stands their and laughs even after he is actually lit on fire. The acting is horrible and the whole thing is just hard to watch. Maybe a Freddy Krueger prequel would be the way to go, lord knows this attempt at telling his origin story was not very good to say the least. What else would you have included?
