10 Horror TV Shows That Ended On A Cliffhanger

1. Hannibal

The Terror
NBC

Oh Hanni we hardly knew ye. The cliffhanger of cliffhangers in a figurative and literal sense, Brian Fuller’s immaculate horror adaptation left fans screaming, crying, shaking and starting petitions the world over. Three seasons of visceral artsy build-up and plenty of homoerotic subtext led to Will Graham and Hannibal Lecter uniting against the Great Red Dragon Francis Dollarhyde, stabbing each other in an act of loving victory and then falling off a cliff, out of audiences’ view.

In a classic case of Habeas Corpus we never actually see Will and Hannibal’s dead bodies. Furthermore, a mysterious post credits stinger shows the pair’s psychiatric frenemy Dr Bedelia Du Maurier sat at a table set for three, sans one whole leg. This is the second Brian Fuller effort on this list and actually three-for-three if you count the Pushing Daisies cancellation.

Fuller himself is united with fellow cast members and longtime fans to resurrect the utterly unique show for one final go-around (this time covering elements of The Silence of the Lambs story). Did Will and Hannibal make it? How did they do it? What would an intense ‘Fuller-ized’ adaption of Silence of the Lambs look like? Will they finally just make out already? Hopefully one day, we’ll find out.
