Werewolves are no strangers to horror and fantasy, becoming popular with Universal Pictures' The Wolf Man in 1941 and remaining a staple beast of fiction after all these decades later. Influenced by the creatures that howl at the moon, Frank Lupo created 1987's Werewolf for Fox.

This show tells the story of Eric Cord, a college student who is afflicted with a curse from his roommate after said roomie transformed into a towering werewolf and attacked poor Eric. After managing to kill his friend in the ghastly form, Cord goes on the run to find the person responsible for the curse that afflicted them both - all while trying to tame his new wild side. And with a bounty hunter on his tail, Eric is in more danger than he could possibly imagine.

Werewolf aired between 21 Jump Street and Married With Children, but unable to gain the same number of people to tune in, its slot at 8pm on Sundays was replaced with America's Most Wanted, which fared much better and hit it off as a successful reality show. Werewolf was moved to the 10pm slot on that day instead, where it was finally put down after one season.
