10 Huge Doctor Who Plot Holes Everyone Overlooks

3. The Statue Of Liberty

This one's just dumb.

In the emotional farewell episode for the Ponds, Amy and Rory leave the Doctor after becoming embroiled with the Weeping Angels. The bulk of the episode's action takes place in 1930s New York, including a scene where Amy and Rory are trapped on a rooftop by the sinister statues.

As if things couldn't get any worse, they turn around to see that the freakin' Statue of Liberty is standing right behind them, because it too is an Angel.

Where to even start?

Firstly, the Statue of Liberty is not made of stone, so how is it an Angel? Secondly, any image of an Angel becomes an Angel, so why isn't every tourist shop in New York overrun with tiny plastic assassins? And thirdly, how has nobody looked at one of the most famous landmarks on Earth long enough for it to travel this far?

The whole thing is stupid beyond belief, and it comes at the expense of what should have been a really heartfelt episode.
