After delivering two incredible Doctor Who stories in 2005 and 2007 (Father's Day and Human Nature, respectively), Paul Cornell, sadly, hasn't written any more televised adventures. But it hasn't been for a lack of trying.

In fact, the writer has had multiple opportunities to pen more Doctor Who episodes in the years since, but none of these opportunities ever panned out.

Included among his many proposals and pitches was a festive story in which the Doctor has to save a young boy's life at Christmas, as well as an episode called Pride and Prejudice and Daleks, which very much speaks for itself.

Another crazy idea that Cornell had was an adventure in which the Twelfth Doctor was turned into a vampire. A real vampire, mind you, none of this fishy business. The episode would've revolved around a group of bloodsuckers living peacefully in London, and the idea to turn the Doctor into one was suggested by Steven Moffat, who wanted Cornell to explore a less trustworthy, slightly more sinister version of the character.

Unfortunately, this plot wasn't chosen for further development, even though - let's be honest - Peter Capaldi would make an excellent vampire.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
