10 Majorly Hyped TV Series That Disappointed Us
1. The Defenders
Oh no, it looks like it's a hattrick for Marvel and an unfortunate second appearance for Danny Rand's Iron Fist. So again, not a good look!
Although Iron Fist had proven to be the kink in Netflix' Marvel series armour, there was still plenty of reason to get excited about their big team-up show, The Defenders. After all, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Daredevil would be there, and they were enough to make it fun. Plus, Sigourney Weaver was taking on the antagonist role; it was mouth-watering.
Fans knew it wouldn't reach the same level as The Avengers, but it was on its way to forever altering these characters. Then, it arrived, and it was hard to believe that anyone had thought it through.
There were some great (almost obligatory) hallway fight scenes, but overall this show dragged. It was slow, filled with too much dialogue and didn't develop any of the characters in a way that made it feel like a worthwhile watch.
Then, to make things even worse, the creation of Disney+ meant all of the Netflix shows were cancelled prematurely, meaning this boring series was the final hurrah for these great characters. It's one of the biggest letdowns in TV history.
