While portrayed as both a rival and ally during his respective appearances in Black Panther and Avengers Infinity War, M'Baku's return could see him finally adopt the villainous role that fans want to see from him.

M'Baku appearing as an ally to T'Challa during both films was fun, however seeing the character embrace the villainous ways of the Man-Ape could create a compelling villain. Considering M'Baku survived the snap, he could have even taken over the throne when T'Challa, Shuri and others were snapped out of existence? This could result in an M'Baku reluctant to give up the throne after five years.

Based on rumours, it seems that Shuri is the likely candidate to become the Black Panther and rule Wakanda, which could put her at odds with the former ally. It will be interesting to see where the series takes the character, however if done right he could be a compelling villain for the series' protagonists to tackle.
