10 Incredible Ways The Simpsons & Family Guy Could Cross Over

2. It's All Actually Occurring On An Episode Of South Park

This would be funny just for the fact that it would illustrate that South Park already did it in an episode entitled "The Simpsons Already Did It". South Park is subtly alluded to within the narrative by the episode taking on the kind of epic battle scenario that South Park does so well. The towns of Quahog and Springfield are thrown into an inter-town war, led on each side by an unlikely General: Peter Griffin and Homer J. Simpson. All manner of war film homages take place, with films as diverse as Red Dawn and Saving Private Ryan being referenced. The warfare is really the product of the imaginations of Simpsons-loving Kyle and Family Guy-loving Cartman. They have decided to settle the debate of which is better once and for all, by using their Family Guy and Simpsons toys and merchandise to create the battle of the cartoon century. As the episode progresses elements of South Park slowly creep in until the final revelation. This scenario allows for an endless stream of in-jokes regarding the criticisms levelled at each series, Family Guy for being derivative, The Simpsons for being stale and past its sell-by date, all filtered through South Park's acerbic lens. One of the most unlikely of all the scenarios presented here, but such an approach would send fandom and the internet into a frenzy.
