9. Jim Rash Was Added To The Cast After Filming Had Started

Where would the show be without the presence of the infamous Dean Pelton. With his perfectly timed entries and puns dads around the world would be proud of, he grew to become perhaps the show's standout funniest character.

What people don't know is that Jim Rash wasn't a part of the original pilot, and was cast after shooting for the first episode had begun.

Keen-eyed viewers will have spotted a wedding ring on Pelton's finger in the first episode, which he never wears again and we only find out in season 5 that it belonged to his mother and he lost it during his first week. Glad they patched that one up!
