10 Mind-Blowing Facts You Didn't Know About The Office

The Office Hank Azaria
NBC

Life has a habit of imitating art in a lot of ways. And when a pop cultural entity gets a strong following, especially something that went on for as long and gathered as many fans as The Office did, it was basically inevitable that Dunder Mifflin inspired merchandise would begin to become available and fans would seek to recreate the show.

Jan's short-0lived home candle business "Serenity by Jan" never really took off in the show, but for a time, NBC actually made these scented wax sticks available on their website. They had a selection of aromas, including Clean Jeans, Hunter Green, and Campfire to name but a few.

To honour the show, Staples began selling actual Dunder Mifflin branded paper products through their subsidiary Quill.com, and they were one of their most popular collection of items. Dunder Mifflin is even a registered member of the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce.

In one episode, Michael mentions a video about the Cookie Monster singing "Chocolate Rain". Oddly, such a video did not exist at the time, until eventually a fan of the show made one to make Michael's words ring true.
