10 Minor Doctor Who Actors Who Became Big Names

2. Carey Mulligan

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwdbLu_x0gY Carey Mulligan is most famous for playing the lead character in coming-of-age drama An Education (which saw her nominated for an Oscar) and Daisy Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann€™s lavish adaptation of The Great Gatsby. But to Doctor Who fans she will always be known best for her role in the Series 3 episode Blink (2007), the first appearance of the Weeping Angels. Taking the lead in the episode (as it barely featured the Doctor and Martha in order to fit the series' filming schedule), Mulligan played Sally Sparrow; a woman with an interest in abandoned manor house Wester Drumlins, home to the terrifying Weeping Angels. After a nightmarish ordeal that took the lives of her best friend and a potential love interest; with some help from the Doctor, Sally managed to defeat the Angels and start a relationship with her best friend€™s brother. Next on the horizon for Mulligan are an adaptation of Far From The Madding Crowd and a film about the Suffragette movement, both of which are undergoing post-production work and scheduled for release next year.
