10 Minor Doctor Who Actors Who Became Big Names

1. Andrew Garfield

Well there wasn€™t really anybody else who could take the top spot, now was there. Although he€™s still young and has a long career of him, Andrew Garfield€™s stock in Hollywood is ever rising and he is currently one of its hottest properties; being the twenty-first century€™s second actor to play Spider-Man after Sony rebooted the franchise with 2012€™s The Amazing Spider-Man. But five years before taking on the role of the Web-slinger and the international acclaim (and derision from some fans) that comes with it; Garfield had a two episode stint on Doctor Who, playing Hooverville resident Frank in 2007€™s Dalek two-parter Daleks In Manhattan and Evolution Of The Daleks. Initially being abducted by the Daleks for conversion into a human-Dalek hybrid, Frank was eventually freed and helped Martha Jones and deformed Dalek slave Laszlo fight back against the Daleks€™ Pig Slave minions, and later took a stronger role in leading Hooverville after the death of its original leader, convincing the residents to allow Laszlo to live amongst them. Garfield is currently set to appear in the period drama film Silence alongside Liam Neeson next year and will almost certainly be returning for The Amazing Spider-Man 3. Fortunately for Spidey fans, his American accent has improved since his time on Doctor Who. Which other famous actors got their start in Doctor Who? Let us know in the comments section below...
