8. Joseph Marcell

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Blzpa5oyUVg After a decade of one-off roles in various TV productions including The Professionals and The Bill, Joseph Marcell rocketed to stardom in both the UK and the USA with a leading role in Will Smith€™s sitcom The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air; where he played the Banks family€™s sarcastic and insubordinate yet unflinchingly loyal butler Geoffrey. But two years before he found fame as Geoffrey, Marcell had a one-episode role in the Seventh Doctor story Remembrance of The Daleks (1988). In the midst of trying to work out a way to outmanoeuvre the two Dalek factions vying for the Time Lord super-weapon the Hand of Omega, the Doctor pops into a cafe in Shoreditch and is served by a genial employee named John (Marcell) who he engages in conversation about causality stemming from the decision of whether or not to have sugar in his tea before (in a deleted scene) leaving and paying him with a coin from twenty-eight years into the future. Marcell will be appearing in a film adaptation of Shakespeare€™s Julius Caesar that is currently in pre-production and set for release next year.
