10 Modern British Comedies You Must Binge Watch
8. My Mad Fat Diary
Hilarious, heartfelt and killer soundtrack, My Mad Fat Diary is one of the biggest unsung comedies of the last 10 years. We meet Rae, a 16 year old fresh out of a psychiatric hospital as she tries to reconnect with her friend Chloe and restart her life.
Treating the mental health aspects of the show with gentle hands but never shying away from some brutal truths. Much of the humour comes from Rae's support system of new found friends and the insanity of her mother. It is a beautifully crafted comedy that pulls no punches and isn't afraid to make you feel something among the laughter.
If you needed any more convincing, Chloe is portrayed by Jodie Comer who is now best known for her role as Villanelle in the award winning Killing Eve.
