10 Modern British Comedies You Must Binge Watch
7. Skins
Often regarded as the defining British teen drama-comedy, Skins came bursting onto our screens in 2007 showing teens in a light that no parents ever want to. Cleverly the cast shifted every two years to allow the stories to develop and feel fresh, however, the plots do become less grounded in reality by the third generation.
Skins was never afraid to show its teens in their darkest moments with drugs and alcohol featuring heavily. However, the writers were never ones to preach or condescend their young cast, all the plot-lines felt authentic. The show never drowns in its own seriousness though, keeping comedy at the forefront.
The legacy of Skins can be still be seen in film and cinema as many of the young cast graduated into shows such as Game of Thrones or even as far as Academy Award nominees.
