10 MORE Game Of Thrones Deleted Scenes You Need To See

6. Dolorous Edd And Alliser Thorne

The issue of Ghost and the other direwolves getting increasingly cut out of the show as the seasons progressed was a big talking point for the fans and one that wasn't easily justified by the claims that they were too expensive to add. We all wanted more of the creatures and we almost got a bit more.

While it's only a rough cut - hence the effects on Ghost - this scene from after Jon's murder that was cut from the opening of season 6 would have seen Ghost and Dolorous Edd encountering Alliser Thorne. You can sense the disgust in Edd as well as Ghost's open disdain for his master's murderer, but the tension of the scene didn't really justify its inclusion as the logic of why they'd allow Thorne off for killing Jon - or why Thorne wouldn't kill them as Snow loyalists for that matter - doesn't really work.

There was also to be a scene in the final season showing a farewell between Jon and Ghost - according to writer Bryan Cogman - but it was cut, which was actually a smart idea, considering how perfect the reunion at The Wall was in the final episode.
