10 More Great TV Shows Cancelled After Just One Season

6. Harper's Island (2009)

My So-Called Life
CBS

Harper’s Island was an Agatha Christie style horror mystery series. The show was a big load of campy fun, based on the fictional Harper’s Island and set seven years after a man named John Wakefield went on a killing spree before being shot by the island sheriff. Now, with the sheriff's daughter returning for the first time since the killing spree, the murders begin to happen again - and nobody is off the suspects list. It's time to uncover the mysteries of the Island, find out why these murders are happening and who's at the centre of it all.

The show is full of secrets and there were so many deaths across the episodes but unfortunately it couldn’t maintain a high number of viewers and got pushed from a prime Thursday evening slot to a Saturday night. Had audiences understood Harper’s Island and got on board with it as some good guilty pleasure fun, it could definitely have become a fun anthology series similar to the likes of American Horror Story or True Detective.
