4. Seven Of Nine's First Human Scene

The second episode of Star Trek: Voyager's fourth season revealed Seven of Nine in the famous silver catsuit in the final scene. This followed a back and forth with Captain Janeway, wherein Seven does her best to reject her burgeoning humanity. While there is little resolution to this by the story's close, the iconic design captured imaginations.

The outfit was more than form-fitting, lending legitimacy to the belief that Jeri Ryan had only been hired for her looks. In a way, there was a degree of truth to this. Declining ratings required something to give the show a boost, which Seven of Nine delivered in spades. However, what few people expected from the beginning was just how impressive Ryan would turn out to be.

Though there was a somewhat standard wooden edge to her first few episodes, she quickly became one of the most important characters on the show. While this irked some of the other cast, including Robert Beltran and Kate Mulgrew, it gave the series a new lease of life. This silver catsuit was quickly scrapped when it transpired Ryan could barely breathe in it, though all subsequent outfits, while she was aboard Voyager, would follow a very similar pattern.
