8. Letting Go - Perchance To Dream
Looking back on Batman's origins, it's almost like Bruce Wayne didn't even have a say in the matter. No matter how much he could have just kicked back as a rich billionaire, there was something that drove him to be the Caped Crusader that went beyond just avenging his parents' murders.
So when you see him actually not having to don the cape and cowl, it can feel... strange.
All throughout Perchance to Dream, you get the feeling that something is way off. We see Bruce wake up and find out that everything has worked itself out, with his parents still being alive and someone else deciding to take up the mantle as Batman. Still, he can't seem to shake the feeling that something is wrong, as if he needs to let out his feelings of abandonment when there's none to be found.
Turns out there is something a bit off, since the Mad Hatter is the one behind everything and has been controlling Bruce's mind through his dream machine. It is pretty entertaining though to see Bruce Wayne go toe to toe with the dream world Batman for a little while. Even with the costume on, there's nothing that will separate Batman from Bruce Wayne - no matter how hard you try.
