8. The Time Flight Master Reveal

There's a lot wrong with Time Flight, but the wrongest of the wrong is the Master's frankly ludicrous disguise as Kalid the Conjurer.

You can absolutely see Time Flight as a Pertwee-era story, with the Roger Delgado Master hijacking planes for his evil plans. Delgado wouldn't have dressed as an alien mystic though – he would've just stuck on a pilot's cap and got on with it.

So why exactly does the Anthony Ainley Master need to dress up as an ill-judged racial stereotype for his plan to work? For one thing, the Master is stranded in a barren wasteland, meaning that there's no need whatsoever to try and 'blend in' with the locals.

Secondly, he's capturing passenger jets for his own use, so he's got no reason to hide his identity. If anything, appearing as the Master instead of a grey-skinned alien conjurer would've made his prisoners respond to him better.

It's clear they wanted to give the Master a disguise because, well, Master gonna Master. But in this case it doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
