Many SG-1 fans felt that the series' last few seasons, specifically nine and ten, were some of the weakest seasons for the series.

Fans hated things like the introduction of the Ori, the last galactic wide threat SG-1 faced, as well as a feeling of an overall decrease in the quality of SG-1's episodes.

No episode better captures this feeling than the twentieth episode of season ten, where SG-1 is ambushed by an Ori fleet while taking the Earth battlecruiser Odyssey to the Asgardian planet Orilla.

This ambush causes SG-1 to activate a time dilation field and freeze time everywhere except on the ship. What followed was a long, long episode about SG-1 living out the rest of their lives for fifty years trapped aboard the Odyssey.

This time dilation field allowed for the characters of SG-1 to go through several arcs, like Daniel and Vala finally expressing their true feelings for each other, and Samantha Carter learning to play the cello.

In the end, Tealc saved everyone by resetting time for everyone but him, essentially undoing all the character development that the episode went through. Many fans hated this episode for its plot and claimed this was a waste of an episode.

Many really hated the absurd-looking old-age makeup that was applied to the cast of SG-1, something even the writers of the episode disliked when they first saw it. Overall this episode did everything wrong and disappointed many fans who were already suffering from a feeling of Stargate fatigue.
