10 Most Controversial TV Shows Of All Time

1. You're In The Picture

url-3 In 1961, famous comedian Jackie Gleason starred in what was known by his own words in €œthe biggest bomb in history." And hat bomb was the failed game show known as You€™re in the Picture. It was a humorless show similar to Celebrity Jeopardy, in which famous contestants appeared and tried to win a prize for a charitable organization. However, it wasn€™t funny, it wasn€™t exciting, and - after it was first aired it received such a negative review - they decided to cancel the show altogether. Not only that, but during the time slot in which the second episode was going to be aired Gleason publicly apologized for the show. He apologized for thirty minutes for the awfulness of the show. That€™s how bad the response was. In a very interesting twist, the apology got better reviews than the actual show, so Gleason continued his contract with the network by using that timeslot for a talk/interview show called The Jackie Gleason Show, who didn€™t got as bad reviews as the original show. And believe it or not, the original sponsors of the show remained during The Jackie Gleason Show. Well, all except Kellogs, the original sponsor, who were offended by a joke Gleason made during the apology. They finished the contract and stated than they wanted no further association with Gleason of the show after that. Even though The Jackie Gleason Show got moderate success and Gleason€™s reputation was cleared, the legacy of awfulness and atrocity of You€™re in the Picture, shall live on forever.
