9. X-Rated: The TV They Tried to Ban
Aired in 2005, The TV They Tried to Ban was a documentary that explored the controversial material on British Television, analyzing various themes that were controversial in their time. While it was lighthearted in the way the show and segments were presented to the audience, they were smart enough to announce that the whole thing is doing nothing but analyzing the subjects and if someone is offended by it they should change the channel instead. This program might not be very well known, in fact Im pretty sure that most of you havent heard of it until now, however the main reason of why this program is on this list is because of the irony surrounding the criticism of this program. It was there to analyze controversial moments on TV while requesting for a mature understanding of them, yet people complained about the content of the show. To be fair some of the criticism involves that it was nothing but an attempt by the channel to show their courage by showing such material on television.
