10 Most Emotional Community Episodes

6. Introduction To Finality

Despite its high quality, Community never brought in too many viewers and was on the verge of cancellation for most of its run. As such, the Season 3 finale, Intro to Finality, was written as if it would be the series' last episode. As such, the episode is just as emotional as your average series finale.

Shirley brings on Jeff to be her "lawyer" in a "court" case against Pierce to determine the owner of Shirley's Sandwiches, while Pierce brings in Alan, a lawyer who got Jeff fired from his old firm. This "trial" contains one of Jeff's best and most emotionally riveting speeches ever, in which he reiterates a simple truth that Shirley and the study group taught him: caring only about yourself is bad, while caring about others is good. This speech plays over Troy's victory in the Air Conditioning Repair School's Sun Chambers, as well as Evil Abed reverting back to good Abed.

After that "trial," Troy returns from the AC Repair school and rejoins the study group in a tender scene. As the newly reformed study group prepares to study for their biology final, Community's theme song plays over a montage of some big moments: The opening of Shirley's Sandwiches, Jeff passing his biology exam, the survival of Chang and Starburns, Jeff looking up his father, and Abed dismantling the dreamatorium and agreeing to start seeing a therapist (or in this case, Britta).

Thankfully, Intro to Finality did not have to be the Community series finale, as the show ran for three more seasons. However, if it were the last episode of the show, Community would have ended on an emotional high point.
