10 Most Emotional Community Episodes

4. Cooperative Polygraphy

Cooperative Polygraphy deals with a great tragedy from the previous episode: The death of Pierce.

The episode opens with the study group mournfully entering the study room after Pierce's funeral, only for Mr. Stone, the manager of Pierce's estate, to run the group through a polygraph test to ensure none of them murdered Pierce, as per his will. If they do not cooperate, then they will not receive their inheritance.

Quickly, the group discover that Pierce is messing with them beyond the grave, revealing some embarrassing and incriminating confessions they told him. However, they decide to persevere through the psychological torture in honour of Pierce. This pays off, as at the end, Pierce gives each member of the group a meaningful gift (as well as his sperm for some reason), along with compliments, showing how much he truly loved his friends.

The most emotional part of the episode comes at the very end, when Troy receives his inheritance. Pierce will give him 14.3 million dollars if he sails around the world. This means that Troy will leave the study group, Greendale, and Community. You can almost hear Abed's heart break in two when Troy announces he'll take Pierce's offer.
