5. Abed In The Dreamatorium
Yet another meta offering from the mind of Abed, this time Annie asks to be shown around the Dreamatorium to give Troy time to go for lunch with Britta.
It’s clear Abed is struggling with the fact he’s no longer Troy’s only priority, and things start to spiral from there.
In the Dreamatorium, we see Abed’s imagined versions of his friends, and how he fears they will eventually be fed up with him and cut him out of their lives. Though it doesn’t dwell on it, it heavily implies Abed was massively bullied throughout Junior High too.
It harkens back to an earlier episode, where Abed zones in on female insecurities and is used by Annie, Britta and Shirley to make them the popular girls. Abed then kamikazes his own stock by giving Meghan (played by Hilary Duff) a list of mean things to say about him.
Considering Abed wrote the list, it’s sad that he views himself so negatively to freely and eloquently list off his flaws so readily.
Abed later comes around to the idea of Troy & Britta, even helping them through their breakup after a Freaky Friday body switching story.
