10 Most Emotional Game Of Thrones Reunions

8. Jon And Rickon

Game Of Thrones Arya Sansa
HBO

The amount of emotional anguish the writers of Game of Thrones were able to wring out of Rickon's sudden reappearance in the sixth season is bananas. He was a character who was barely on the show, a tiny little child who hardly had any lines or a significant relationship with his much other siblings. But when he comes back, the little lord of Winterfell long thought dead, the idea of him getting killed is horrifying.

And for Jon, seeing his youngest brother for the first time in years, now a tall, thin, terrified adolescent, across the battlefield in the hands of an utter sadist, is pure torture.

He comes so close to rescuing him and keeping another part of his rapidly dwindling family unit alive, but at the last minute, when they're almost near enough to touch, Rickon gets killed with Ramsey's arrow. And to think, their reunion could have lasted so much longer if only Rickon was capable of zigging and/or zagging.
