10 Most Emotional Game Of Thrones Reunions
3. Arya And Sansa
Now that the series is heading towards its finale, Stark reunions are raining from the sky like hellish dragon fire blasts. But this one, between the two sisters who were always so different from one another, is without a doubt the most intriguing.
The last time they saw each other, Sansa was the princess, Arya the ragamuffin, and when they meet again in the tombs of Winterfell there is a genuine delight at being united mixed with a certain wariness of one another. You can tell how they are immediately trying to get a sense of where they stand in the new dynamic, both older and having lived vastly different experiences since their childhood together.
It's not the unbridled joy that (as Sansa perceptively points out) we would see from an Arya/Jon reunion, but there also isn't any malicious intent or ill feelings either. It comes across as a super realistic scene between two sisters who are relieved to see each other and have another little piece of home restored to them, but can't hide the fact that they have never really had much in common with one another.
Add to this Sansa's tendency towards mistrust (and who can blame her) and Arya's newly acquired bloodthirstiness and you have a fascinating new all-female dynamic in Winterfell. But despite the minimal number of warm fuzzies, any time Starts get brought back together, sentimental tears are inevitably shed.
