7. Poker Face
Rian Johnson may be hot off the success of his murder-mystery smash hit Knives Out, but to many his finest work to date is still the three episodes of Breaking Bad he directed, particularly the all-timer season five classic "Ozymandias."
And so it's exciting to see Johnson back in the TV realm for his new project Poker Face, a 10-episode mystery drama series starring Russian Doll's Natasha Lyonne.
Much like Knives Out, the plot remains closely guarded and very little is known about it, though Johnson did offer some vague hints during the announcement:
"I'm very excited to dig into the type of fun, character driven, case-of-the-week mystery goodness I grew up watching. It's my happy place."
Johnson did also previously hint that Columbo had an influence on the project, so even though much is left up in the air, it's easy to be intrigued by the filmmaker getting such a large canvas on which to flaunt his wit and filmmaking chops.
