It's called Cocaine Bear - what more could you possibly want to know?

Seriously, though, this is the eye-catching title of Elizabeth Banks' new thriller project to be produced by Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The LEGO Movie, 21 Jump Street).

The script, written by Jimmy Warden (The Babysitter: Killer Queen), is based on a stranger-than-fiction true story which unfolded in Kentucky in 1985, where a black bear unknowingly ingested massive amounts of cocaine it stumbled across in an abandoned duffel bag.

The bear reportedly died within 20 minutes, though, and didn't quite embark on the coke-fuelled city-wide rampage you probably expected, so it'll be interesting to see how Banks and Warden distend things out to feature-length.

One can assume the film will focus more on the circumstances through which the duffel bag came to end up where it was - thrown out of an airplane by smuggler Andrew Thornton, who then parachuted from the plane himself and ended up dying upon impact when his parachute failed to open.
