2. I Want You To Wake Up
The Sting was one of the trippiest episodes Futurama ever put out there, and that's saying a lot for a show this off the wall. The basic plot features a dangerous mission to a honeycomb, wherein Fry, attempting to save Leela, is impaled by a stinger and dies. Consumed by grief, Leela takes space honey to help her sleep.
Space honey is no ordinary honey though, and dreams and reality start to blur. The one constant in her life is repeated visions of Fry. She's always happy to see him, although their time together is constantly cut short by his repeated begging of her to wake up.
Leela doesn't understand; she's only happy when she's asleep with him, why would she ever want to wake up? But in the end, it turns out she does need to wake up. Fry was relatively unharmed by his impalement, with the venom from the stinger passing through him and infecting Leela. She'd been in a coma all this time, with Fry never leaving her side in the hospital, begging her to wake up. This episode was an early indicator of the serious, emotional tone the pair could strike as a couple.
