10 Most Hotly Anticipated Returning TV Shows Of 2017

6. Doctor Who Series 10

Doctor Who Hell Bent Peter Capaldi
BBC

For the first time since 2009, there's been no series of Doctor Who this year, with only the Christmas Special to give us our TARDIS fix.

That's to give Steven Moffat extra time to prepare for what will be his last journey through time and space, the showrunner stepping down after Series 10 and making way for Broadchurch's Chris Chibnall.

Hopefully, that means Moffat will be going out with a big bang. Series 9 was one of the show's strongest runs in years, with Capaldi really hitting his stride as the Doctor.

With Series 10 Moffat's last, things should be bigger and better, and hopefully we'll get plenty of returning faces - both behind-the-scenes and in front of the camera (Captain Jack, please!) - to see him go out in style.
