6. The Proposal
When they finally got together and everyone was clued in on their relationship after several months of secrecy, Monica and Chandler's relationship seemed to just fly by. Before long they were talking about getting married, but since Chandler wanted his proposal to be a surprise, he decided to throw Monica off the scent.
He told her that marriage was unnatural, and that he may never want to get married, while at the same time, unbeknown to Chandler, Richard told Monica that he loved her and was willing to offer her what Chandler wasn't.
This was different to most Friends episodes in that it wasn't just funny, it was one of the most emotionally charged ever. Both Monica and Chandler thought briefly that their relationship was ending, but it all came together with a simply amazing, wonderfully romantic ending.
First Monica broke tradition by getting down on one knee herself, then Chandler joined her, and they essentially proposed to each other in the middle of a sea of candlelight. Ross and Rachel's relationship may have been a rollercoaster, but at this moment, everyone knew that Monica and Chandler belonged together forever.
