3. The Scythe

"Drop the scythe, boys." Four words that made 100,000 jaws drop. Don't question how it was put in position, don't question how they'll get it back in position, just stand back in awe at how cool the scythe looked as it scraped its way along a stretch of the Wall, turning the wildling climbers into red rain. It's all different from the books, where huge scores of giants, mammoths and a wooden 'turtle' siege machine were used in the efforts to breach the wall. However, HBO kept the giants and mammoths to a minimum, while the 'turtle' was dropped altogether, but thankfully they went a long way towards making up for it with the TV-specific pendulum of death.
