10 Most Inappropriate Moments In Star Trek: The Next Generation
7. Geordi LaForge Makes A Hologram Of A Real Woman, Kisses It
How this continues to get a pass from Star Trek fans is beyond me because, despite the fact it's incredibly hi-tech, it is absolutely no difference whatsoever to you sticking the face of a co-worker on your Japanese Love Pillow. Geordi makes up a holographic version of Leah Brahms, falls in love with it, and then pretty much expects the real-life version to reciprocate his feelings.
After literally kissing the made-up version of woman who designed the Enterprise's warp drive she says "I’m with you every day, Geordi. Every time you look at this engine, you’re looking at me. Every time you touch it, it’s me". The man not only falls in love with a hologram, but it's sort of implied that he'll pass that affection on to an engine.
The following season the real-life Brahms comes aboard the Enterprise and LaForge goes to lengths to try and romance her. After a series of over-familiar comments, Brahms discovers the holodeck programme of her and how infatuated it is with LaForge.
I mean come on! Can you imagine if you went to work with someone and discovered they not only already had pictures of you all over their office, but they'd been kissing them. In any competent organization, Geordi would have been fired on the spot.
