10 Most Intense Star Trek Scenes

8. Collapse The Anomaly - ...All Good Things

The final episode of The Next Generation is one of its greatest stories, exploring the nature of humanity, the universe, and everything in between. In being a finale, the audience was less certain that every character would make it to the end. Deanna was gone in the future timeline, while Yar was a reminder never to make assumptions.

As the three Enterprise-Ds met inside the anomaly, we were treated to the frankly awesome shot of several Galaxy-class ships together - a first, at that point, notwithstanding seeing the Yamato on the viewscreen. Inside those ships, the countdown was truly booming.

Thanks to the anti-time nature of it all, Yar is once again killed when the youngest Enterprise explodes first, swiftly followed by the then-contemporary one. With everything riding on them, the future Enterprise-D looks like it may explode before the anomaly truly closes.

Q's last quip, before the core breaches, seems to be a death knell for Jean-Luc Picard. Now with thirty years of context, we may know the outcome, but that scene never let up.
