10 Most Intense Star Trek Scenes

7. Geordi Vs. Lore - Dominon

LeVar Burton's return to Star Trek as Geordi LaForge was a masterstroke. Criminally underused in both The Next Generation and its accompanying movies, he was able to truly show off his acting chops in Picard's third season. Dominion saw him come face to face with an old enemy, all while the Titan-A erupted into war around them.

The stand-off between Geordi and Lore is one of the all-time Star Trek scenes. Brent Spiner is excellent, while delivering a whisper above an evil smile, though both actors capture the fear and loathing between them. As Geordi pleads with Lore to help save his daughters, the evil android merely grins back.

This scene, combined with Sydney's peril, Shaw having the snot beaten out of him, and Vadic's rapid takeover of the ship, left the audience breathless. There was a chance it may not have worked if any of the mix had been off by a millimetre. Thankfully, every single aspect landed, and Burton has never been better as Geordi.
