10 Most Ludicrous Moments From Sense8

6. The Smart Car Chase

Smart cars are not cool. If anything, the boxy little motors are the symbol of uncool. Car chases, meanwhile, are amongst the coolest things in the world, which is why the seventh Fast And Furious film is one of the highest-grossing movies in history, and why Steve McQueen was always doing them. Putting the two together, well...

The Smart car chase at the end of episode eight, €œWe Will All Be Judged by the Courage of Our Hearts€, is even filmed on the same San Francisco streets as the iconic scenes from McQueen's Bullitt. Seeing that tiny car pinball between parked cars and almost tip over with its low centre of balance is a lot less elegant than that film, mind.

For a directing duo known for their stylish choreography and action scenes (especially in Speed Racer), it's a delight to see The Wachowskis do something thoroughly uncool with this sequence. It's also totally ludicrous that a Smart car can manage to get away from a fleet of police cruisers, especially when it manages a corkscrew jump in the air and lands. Fantastic! Ridiculous!
